My Google Summer of Code 2007 proposal:

InkMoz and RubyInk - Bridges for Inkscape extensions

InkMoz will be a bridge for Inkscape extensions to use Mozilla Infrastructure. It will enables to write Inkscape extensions in Javascript, using the Gecko DOM and its other good functionalists. It can be done with the xulrunner and work on all Mozilla supported platforms.

RubyInk will be the easiest way to create Inkscape extensions like the Rails make easy to create webapplications with Ruby. To create the RubyInk will be needed to create a good Ruby SVG module. A DOM interface will be provided by this new SVG module, elements will be identified and useful methods will be added for help the SVG handling.
